Rub the Pluck and percussedFrota lo pulsado
More than a technique to master, it's a way to feel.

The most fundamental matter is resonance — and our inner ear who observes it most. The ear is the centroid and the primary of the five senses — the most (In)Evolved bit.
Our inner ear, who observes it most: the most primary and (In)Evolved in our feeling.
Feel it firstSentir primero
It matters more you enjoying the music you play than others liking it. Frotis helps you “feel deep”, which is very pleasant specially when you are starting to learn to play music.
More inwardsMás hacia dentro
The more direct touch with the instrument, the more subjectivity and resonance extended inward. A guitar allows more direct touch than a violin does; theatricalizing the hands adds even more connection.
Easy for new, Hard for expertsFácil para iniciados, difícil para expertos
Frotis is easy for beginners and harder for experts: the newbie focuses in the free feeling and the expert must reorient how they are used to playing, and hide less their deep emotions behind the instrument.
It loves a recordingLe sienta bien grabar
Live and bare it can sound empty or noisy; recorded and equalized with care it reveals colours and pseudo-percussion you would not reach playing plucked, up to often reaching the “one-person orchestra” effect, just on a single, popular instrument like the guitar.
Frotis applies beyond strings: vocal frotis is the pre-lyric of whispers, whistles, humming and onomatopoeia (beatboxers, ASMR, ...); A challenge is dancing close and massage to generate tactual frotis for drawing sounds from and compose with.
“The most audible organic thing is blood, friction heard from the inner ear, some dusty wind underlying the pluck and percussion of the heart.”«Lo orgánico más audible es la sangre, fricción oida del oido interno, viento con polvo que subyace a la pulsada-percusión del corazón.»

Plucked instruments (e.g. ) are the most popular because they are the of the two tipos-vertexes of the group.
The states of matter are kinds of plasma; all matter keeps transforming and transducing. Plasma is the friction of the full resonance (noise) slowing down against the emptiest (silence) speeding up. Matter — plasma, resonance — is the confluence of silence and noise we manage to approach.
Sound (acoustics, cymatic form) emerges as the first observable magnitude of resonance. Music is sounds the observer considers ordered; harmony is subjective and momentary. An instrument expands one kind of music as an analogy of the body itself. Frotis is a good musical analogy for the theory of homeopathic dilution.
The outer ear captures part of the noise: the sound; the inner ear captures everything — more than the sound we can hear. Each sound takes limited space inside and takes more outside. The less space a sound takes, the more attention-space for other sounds. Percussion takes the minimum outside and maximum inside; wind and rubbed string, the reverse.
There is a limit to sound origins for the outer ear, but the limit is greater for the inner ear. More origins bring us closer to genesis and to our reproductive and immune systems; more extended sounds, to evolution (nervous). Strumming plucked string intruments tends toward rubbed-wind and creates more "plucky" origins. It's more difficult to create more quantity of origins with rub or wind.
Art — musical quality, here — must balance subjectivity and objectivity in what is expressed. What we admire must be believably similar to us, because it is-will be our new minimum of self-esteem (we constantly thrive-evolve). Music magnifies the performer, helps expressing certain emotional depth andbut some culturally attached playing music standards also hides even more their deepest communicative intentions.
Every novelty emerges with a degree of surprise; syncopation is its most minimal emulation. A new sound will occupy part of what the previous sound occupies — affecting its quality.

A fugue is the claim, held for centuries, that several fully alive voices can coexist without any of them commanding and none falling silent. It is the touchstone of the craft since Bach — and a study of the very syncopation Frotis rubs.

Rub the strings with your cursor or finger — move faster to rub harder. Then listen to what a real rubbed guitar can sound like.
